MYLO is an advanced pool alarm or better say a pool drowning detection system. Unlike traditional alarms, MYLO doesn’t just react to movement or splashes. It’s smart enough to detect people, both in and around the pool, and most importantly, tell the difference between a person and an object.
That means you won’t get false alarms every time a leaf falls into the water or a toy floats by. Instead, MYLO filters out the noise and focuses on what truly matters — keeping your loved ones safe. To make it even more effective, MYLO can trigger five different types of alerts. For simplicity, we’ll split them into two categories:

Alarm Categories - Warning Notifications
These alerts aren’t triggered by life-threatening events, but they’re just as important — because they help prevent danger before it even happens. Let’s break it down. Approaching the Pool
Imagine this: the pool is calm, no one is around. Then suddenly, someone — let’s say a child — appears and starts approaching the pool.
MYLO’s above-water camera immediately notices the movement. It recognizes that something — or more precisely, someone — has entered the area and is getting closer to the water. Within about 12 seconds, MYLO reacts. It emits a loud beep and starts flashing green, drawing attention to the situation. At the same time, your home unit beeps, and you receive a notification on your phone — complete with a picture of what MYLO detected.
Now, here’s the key: This isn’t a false alarm. It’s a smart early warning, giving you the chance to step in before anything serious happens. The accidental fall of a child into the water can be completely avoided thanks to this feature.
The Pool Is Active
Alright — so we’ve covered the first type of warning. Now let’s imagine a different situation.
Let’s say the child knows how to swim and is comfortable in the water. They walk up to the edge of the pool and — as most kids do — they jump in. This time, MYLO’s underwater camera kicks in. It detects that something has entered the water and quickly determines that it’s a person who is actively moving. About 12 seconds later, you get notified. MYLO lets you know that someone is in your pool and is using it. There’s no alarm sound this time — just a clear notification to your home unit and your phone. From here, it’s up to you. Maybe you’ll go outside to check, or maybe you’ll just stay extra aware knowing the pool is in use.
Either way, you’re not in the dark — you stay informed and in control.
Alarm Categories - Critical Alerts
Now, this is where things get serious. Critical alerts are not just warnings — they signal real, immediate risks to someone’s health or life.
These situations may require rescue from the water, and in the worst cases, even CPR. When MYLO triggers a critical alert, it means that something dangerous is happening, and you need to take action. In total, there are three different types of critical alerts, each one designed to detect and notify you of a potential drowning scenario.
Drowning Suspicion
Let’s imagine the pool is in use and everything seems fine — someone is swimming, relaxing, maybe even playing. But then, something goes wrong.
Children might push each other, splash too much, or just get tired. Older swimmers may suddenly feel dizzy, weak, or experience muscle cramps. In these moments, a person might still be conscious, but you can tell something’s off — they’re struggling to stay above the surface. Maybe they’re flapping their arms, kicking awkwardly, or trying to reach the edge. It’s not panic yet, but it’s not normal either. And this is exactly what MYLO is trained to detect. If MYLO’s underwater camera spots these signs of distress, it waits 12 seconds to confirm the pattern — and then it sounds the alarm.
- A loud siren goes off at the pool
- The system starts flashing red
- Your home unit reacts the same way
- And most importantly, you receive an urgent notification on your phone, showing you what’s happening in real time
This is a critical alert — a potential drowning is in progress. If the person manages to recover and returns to normal swimming, MYLO recognizes this too. The alert ends, and the status switches back to "Pool is Active" — meaning everything is back to normal.
Drowning Alert
Now, while the alert process is the same as in the previous case, the situation is much more critical. In this scenario, MYLO detects a person in the pool — but this time, the person is unconscious. They’re floating still in the water, showing no movement and no signs of life. Here’s how it works:
- MYLO recognizes that someone is in the pool
- It monitors them for 12 seconds
- During that time, no movement is detected — not even the slightest effort to swim or stay afloat
That’s when MYLO knows something is wrong. The siren sounds, lights flash red, your home unit reacts the same way, and a critical notification with an image is sent directly to your phone. This is a true emergency. Immediate action is needed. Whether it's a medical issue, an accident, or a sudden loss of consciousness, this alert gives you the chance to intervene in time. And just like before, if the person regains consciousness and starts moving again, MYLO will recognize the change. The critical alert automatically stops, and the status is updated to "Pool is Active" — indicating normal pool use.
Drowning Critical Alert (Persistent Alarm)
This is the most serious level of alert MYLO can trigger — an extension of the previous drowning scenarios. If the situation doesn’t resolve — meaning the person remains unconscious and shows no signs of recovery — MYLO will escalate the response.
- The system continues to emit sound alerts at full intensity, reaching up to 60 decibels
- Lights continue flashing red at both the device and the home unit
- Notifications remain active on your phone
- And most importantly: this alert cannot be turned off automatically
Even if the person starts moving again later, MYLO won’t cancel this critical alert by itself. To stop it, someone must go to the pool and manually press the button on the top of the device to confirm that the situation has been handled. This ensures that a serious emergency is never ignored or dismissed too quickly — real human confirmation is required.
